At Meet the Need 2025, we gather with a shared commitment: to recognize the impact of trauma and to elevate voices that are too often overlooked.

This year’s Statewide Training on Adoption, grounded in the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), focuses on the healing power of connection and the importance of listening—to children, to families, and to those with lived experience. In the face of abuse, neglect, and complex trauma, a child’s voice can be diminished—buried beneath fear, unmet needs, and the instinct to survive.

As we come together, we center the voices of adoptees, adoptive parents, and professionals who have walked this path. Their experiences challenge and inform us, offering insight into what helps, what hurts, and what is needed most. Listening to these voices strengthens our understanding and sharpens our response, reminding us that healing happens in relationship—and every voice matters.
